American Lawman Alternatives?

I'm looking for some alternatives to the Cold Steel American Lawman. Why? Just look below.

What I Like:
Tri-Ad lock.
The blade shape. I love the blade shape.
The texture of the G-10.

What I Don't Like:
The black coating. I know I can scrape it off, so this isn't really a deal killer.
The blade size. Ideally, I'd keep the blade shape, but have it 4-1/4" long.
The price. On-line, I'm seeing prices between $60-$70, plus shipping. If the Lawman were around $50 (as it is now) I'd be happier with the cost.

Primary use would be a large EDC. I already have a Recon 1 spear point and Voyager Large in clip point (both 4" blades), so I'm a little reluctant about spending the money on a smaller knife from the same company. Actually, I won't be spending anything, as it will be a gift, but I'd still like opinions. If there are no alternatives, then just show me some Lawman photos to get me "feeling" it.

You're just in time for the Cold Steel 2013 release of the Code 4. they have different blade styles too (on their site) 3.5 inch blade though

3-1/2" blade. No thanks.
Aluminum handle. No thanks.
But thanks :)

How about a Buck 110 lock-back with an add on thumb stud? 3 and 3/4 blade for $40 from biggest city chain store and $6 for thumb stud from biggest auction web site.

A 5.5" Recon 1 is forthcoming, if you care. Ignore the MSRP, because the street price will probably be half as much. Link. I'll be grabbing one when the time comes.

Got one. I'm really stoked about the Lawman's blade shape, so I'm looking for something close to it. But thanks again :)

I like it. But, I'm looking for something closer to the Lawman's blade shape.

Maybe you just need to get a Lawman, strip the blade, slap a shine on the blade if you are into it, and Duracoat the G10 in Coyote Tan or whatever color floats your boat.

I think you might be asking for something that doesn't exist. A 4" folding knife with G-10, a good lock, and a decent blade shape that costs around $50 might not exist. I think you might need to compromise on one of those.

Second, I think you nailed it when you said you are reluctant to get a similar knife to what you already have. Honestly, the CS American Lawman isn't that different from a CS Recon 1 with a drop-point blade. The only major difference is that the Recon lacks the forward choil on the blade, and the Recon has half an inch more blade length.

Anyway, good luck. You should post back here if you find something that's closer to what you are looking for.
