I'm in the market for a duty knife. I would choose the recon 1, but $80 uniform pants rule out the super aggressive g-10. So it comes down to the American Lawman or the AK-47. I use the blade on my Swisstool for general utility use so I'm looking more for a blade for last ditch defense and possible shtf use. It also needs to be easily opened wearing gloves and under stress. Of these two which fits the bill?

I like the American Lawman myself. Just feels better to me. That is my opinion, nothing wrong with the AK47 though.

I personally would prefer American Lawman as im only using it for EDC utility, and self defense is pretty much of the lower priority. However if you are using it for duty & last ditch defense, AK-47 is a better choice because it has the "wave" feature and the exposed metal pommel(skull crusher). Just more options available in an emergency situation.
Both AL and AK has about the same blade length and similar shape with good belly. AK is funkier looking, but has much bigger handle, so it's better for gloved use. Moreover the thumb plate is located on top of the blade further from the handle, giving you more thumb space for deployment when wearing glove.
More deployment options = higher probability of deploying blade in an emergency.

I have the American Lawman and Really like it for everyday use on and around the farm. Only one small point I did not like was the pocket clip was really tight so I ended up discarding it and made a belt pouch.
Never seen or held an AK47 but it sure looks like it would deliver everything you want as well.

I like the AK better for what you need. The lawman is a decent EDC. But the AK is just big, mean and tough. I used that pommel to do crazy things. And that grip is crazy secure.

In my opinion the AK47 is much easier to deploy. That said they are both pretty easy and I don't think you'd have issues deploying either with gloves on.

On a side note, I haven't owned a recon but I have both an AK47 and an american lawman and the G10 is very aggressive on both and I thought was exactly the same as on the recon so I don't think that will solve your problem. A simple solution though is just sanding the G10 down right under the clip. I did this on my american lawman just so it would stop tearing up my pants and now it is much easier to get in and out of my pocket.
