Inspired by several sources, including Branson/Lorien's "Dragonboat" (the axe handle) and leuku blade and purpose, here's the burliest knife I've made to date. A simply finished hunk of FFG 0.200" Aldo's 1084 with a deep hidden tang inside an actual axe haft handle. Built for light chopping/limbing and de-barking. Yep, it's a beast. :)

Does this have the traditional Saami Leuku grind?

As in is the back side ground to a deep hollow?

No, it's a regular FFG. Definitely a fusion blade. The leuku influence is primarily the blade shape and handle contour (before the fawn's foot flare). I'll likely do the next one in thinner stock and try a more traditional grind.

Awesome! When I first learned about their unique grind I thought it was just too badass.

Japanese have a similar grind for some chefs knives. Zero chisel ground on one side with a slight concave on the other side.

Stu and I thank you for the shout out :)
cool knife:thumbsup:
