Hi all,

I really hope I'm not breaking any forum rules here, but I don't see any Europe-based Knife-sellers advertising here and there is no need to post links, just hints are fine.

Do you know where we could get a decent array of reasonably priced America-style slipjoints in Europe? Both American made but mostly cheaper Chinese ones like Rough Riders Marbles, Colt etc.

In Europe I only know the big H***** webshop in UK that sells these but the prices are 5-6 times those of the US shops and the F******* in Spain which is also expensive and has a limited offer.

Does anyone know any alternatives?

I really do not want to get them from the US. Not only is shipping more expensive than the knives and I need to take a day off to pick them up from customs, but I had issues with my last two orders. One was from someone on this forum and it took it 6 months to get to me and the second was for a package of 5 knives that the post office misplaced somewhere... :grumpy:

If the mods do not mind I can post the two names I know. If someone has other suggestions but posting shop names is not allowed, please PM me.

I'm afraid you don't have many options.
Very few shops sell multibladed slipjoints in Europe, and they charge quite awfully for them. I assume the market is way too small. Even Colt and RR knives here become expensive.
If you want a decent variety to choose from, I guess buying them in the US is still the most convenient option (if you're willing to accept the time delay, shipping costs, and so on).
Otherwise, you need to find someone who travels to/from the US, and ask him/her to carry your knives in their luggage

Ironically we make a pretty big deal about European Slipjoints around here (in the USA). Have you tried out Victorinox, Opinel, Thiers, Douk Douk, Mercator, MAM, Etc.? Have you possibly looked at custom makers in Europe? I don't know if it's easier to buy from other countries than the US, but Sorry Africa, Australia, and some European countries seem to have some very good custom makers. A decent custom knife costs us about 5-6 times the price of an American production slipjoint so it should be about the same price!

There's really not a good place for this thread on BladeForums. This particular sub-forum is for the discussion of knives, not where or how to buy them.

I would suggest that you enable your email so folks reading this can contact you with information. Go to the settings button in the right hand corner. On the left hand side of the settings page you'll find an edit email and password selection.
We hope you'll hang out and discuss knives with us but this particular subject is against the guidelines.

Closing this thread.
