  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

American tomahawk company vtac, drop forged or cast?

The company say it's drop forged but it looks like there is a cast line all the way up the head on the very top, and slightly on the bottom of the spike. If anyone knows how something that looks like a cast line can come out of drop forging or if I'm right and it's cast? If I can find out how to post pictures I will.

It is forged... but drop forging will have bottom shaped as one half of the item, the top that comes crashing down having the other half's shape. The line can later be ground off, but may not be ground off. Seems they choose to not grind off that line... but it is forged :)

Go ahead and do a review. I've got 5 VTACs. 3 of which are prototypes from Fehrman. I've been beating the snot out of my VTACs for years and have done several reviews here at blade. Let's hear what you have to say......
