I received my Lagana Tactical hawk in the mail two days ago. My first impression was that it was light and agile in the hand and that the grip was surprisingly good. I was suprised, however, to see that the grind on the primary edge was really uneven.
When I say uneven, I don't mean a millimeter variance. I mean that, at its deepest point on either side (1/3 of the way up the edge on one side and right at the top on the other) it is twice as wide/deep (depending on how you want to describe it) as it is at the narrowest point. I know that there will be variation, but this is to a degree that I feel like the edge needs to be reground. I might be expecting too much, but for a hawk that costs over a hundred bucks, I expect a better grind than I would get on a Wal-Mart hatchet.
Has anyone else had this experience? Or do I have the one piece that made it through QC without getting caught?
