Does anyone know the real story behind what is going on between Andy Prisco of American Tomahawk and Justin Gingrich of Ranger Knives? For about a year there has been public sniping from both parties yet no (seemingly) conclusive evidence of who is speaking the truth. I'd like to know who, if anyone, is guilty of wrong doing or if this is just a case of two guys really pissed at each other for whatever reason.
The reason I'm curious is because both companies have products that I am highly interested in. Both companies have a loyal following, excellent track records in customer satisfaction and they both seem to sincerely care about their work and product. However, I'm the kind of person that likes to patronize honest and respectable establishments. If either one is guilty of illegal activity I'd like to know as a consumer.
Now I have corresponded with Mr. Prisco via email a few times and he was both friendly and helpful. Mr. Prisco's involvement here on Bladeforums towards his customers has been very positive as well. I have never met or spoken to Mr. Gingrich in person but his online persona on the forums here and the feedback from his customers has also been highly positive. However, both parties have personal websites that they use to present "evidence" to the contrary. Presenting each other as selfish, vindictive and dishonest. Who is telling the truth?
Threats of lawsuits in both Georgia and Washington State have been tossed about but if any of the documents presented were part of a lawsuit can they really be presented publicly if a case is pending? (If anyone is a lawyer could you please educate me on the proper protocol here.)
So are we, the consumer, being used to sway opinion in a public pissing match or is there truly viable evidence that one party is a thief and/or a liar? Does anyone know for sure? Do these matters affect your buying preference?
