I am sending this pic I have very little info on it. Seems to be made for Moore Handley if anyone can or has any more info I would be happy to know about this axe thanks

Well, truth (or even some modicum of modesty) in advertizing is not a new thing is it? Likely as not, because this is old (relatively speaking), and US-made it is 'up to par' (or ought to be), or equal to the best of them. Now all you need to find out is who actually manufactured this, and to what specs. That will tell you more about relative quality than anything else (besides physically putting it to the test or out for strenuous work). Could be "America's Best" is merely a predecessor of emulator-niche products such as "Best Made" which is currently cashing in on a similar theme. BM doesn't manufacture anything at all and 'farms out' all the work except for the contract specs, advertising and decoration. Council Tools USA makes top of the line stuff and their name does not appear on BM products. I'd be interested to hear who was contracted to make "America's Best".

I have a single bit axe that is stamped "America's Best". I have not done an exhaustive Internet search, but there seems to be very little info available. Someone posted an old ad from Moore-Handley on here a couple of years ago and the axes in the ad had the exact stamp that yours has. Great find and great axe, thanks for posting.

looks well made has nice form.
your example is not rough, i.e. chipped bit or hammer marks

Thanks for the post it is a nice axe and yes it was in rough shape when I got it. It cleaned up nice though
