I decided I needed more .22 ammo, so my wife and I went out to pick some up. I`ve got plenty of .38, .357, 9mm, ,.44, and 45acp, but low on .22. The best price I found was $2.00 a box for Winchester Wildcat, the same stuff I used to buy years ago for $0.59 a box  We went to Wal Mart, K Mart, Big R, Farm and Fleet, 2 gunshops, Bass Pro, and finally got the best deal at Gander Mountain. Most of them were out of almost all ammo, except some 12 gauge.

You haven't bought ammo in a while, huh?

If you can find it, it all costs way more over the past couple of years.

12 gauge buckshot is nearly impossible to find.

A few months ago I went to the gun shop to stock up on .38, .40, and .45. I was shocked at the prices, but when the clerk asked for my ID and then a thumb print I about fell over! Seems there is a new city ordinance. Needless to say, I don't buy ammo in the city limits!

Ammo is nearly non existent around here. You can get .22 and 12 gauge only, as soon as handgun ammo hits the shelf it is gone.

CVC where are you located? That would suck to have sign you name to buy ammo. They are trying that around here but it ahs not gone through yet.

I can not find a brick of 22 shells in North Dakota. I tried Shheels, Cabelas, Spotrsmans Warehouse, Mils Fleet Farm and two Super Walmart, NOT ONE SHELL. If you found any, you are lucky.

I picked up 2000 rounds, so I`m happy. No bricks, I had to buy them by the box.

My father in law is friends with local walmart sporting good girl, she calls as soon as a shipment arrives. If he is not there at 7:00 in the morning the ammo will be sold.

Sacramento. And yeah, it sucks! Too bad for the retailers in the city limits...

yeah panic buying sucks for everyone...when it starts coming down again then a rush of people with start buying again starting the whole process again....I'm sticking to mainly sticking to .22 now.

Since I got laid off awhile back ....I ummmm took a job at Walmart :o for my knife money. I work evenings/nights unloading the trucks. I know its there before the sporting goods department does.:D

And I am allowed to shop on breaks....which is ahemmm.....about the time we bring it out to them.;)

When I was in PA on vacation last week, I hit some small towns.
Was able to get some .40 at 13 bucks a box, .44 at 23.00.
This was at small town hardware type places.
ALL the walmarts I went to were sold out of everything. The Gander Mtn wanted 50 clams for a box of .44, 30 bucks for the .45, 27 for .40, and had a strict rationing scheme in place.

Scheels had some bricks of .22's the other day. 37.50 per brick. I didn't need any that bad yet.

These were some Italian made one too. I did shoot one of my knives with a 22 Magnum, I used it to stick a target on a fence post and of course the first shot hit the handle.
