What is the right mix ratio for water and ammonium chloride in order to make a leather hardener? And what will be the right temperature for curing in an oven and for how long time does it need to be there?

In all my years working with leather I have not heard of this. I will be interested in the responses.

A better alternative is SnowSeal, which stiffens leather and seals the pores against absorption of moisture. Aluminum chloride is corrosive; I have never heard of it being used to treat leather.
