I ordered my first Sebenza the other day from an online shop. Right now it is in "Out for Delivery" status and I am stuck at work. I know that once I see in Delivered status I will need to find an excuse to leave work early. I have to say I have never been this jazzed about receiving a knife in my life. I have ordered and even forgot that I ordered (because of backorders) knives in the past. For some reason this Sebenza has got me amped to handle it.

I have handled Sebenzas in the past. I even own a beautify Mnandi with Macassar Ebony and I was not this excited about receiving it.

All I know is this day is going to be very long until I can get home.

CONGRATS!!! I totally understand that excitement about getting a Sebbie!!

Yeah mine won't have the "out for delivery" status until 3/05 gonna be a loooong couple days

Well I finally got home, call it 4 hours ago. Swung by the office payed rent, and picked up the package. I have to say it is exactly what I expected. I had to spend some time working on a buddies knife, before I could play with my new one.

I find it ironic that the same day I get my new and most expensive knife, I bring home a buddies cheap old beater. I am going to sharpen and clean it for him. Guess the bright spot is that he is coming around to seeing knives as tools worth spending a "slight" premium on. Thereby get something that will last.

Here is a pic of "The Beauty and The Beast". I will let you decide which one is which.

Congratulations on your First Sebenza :p I am glad you like it. I doubt it will be your last. They are addicting.......Just like ALL CRK Are :D

Very nice. I've been finding some new love for my classics lately. Been carrying my micarta classics more than I ever have. I still use a small regular at work, but once I pick up a plain small classic or 21 I may switch to that for my work EDC.

First I would like to say thanks to everyone on welcoming me to the "Sebenza Family". According to my friends, family and co-workers, I am now officially crazy for spending that much money on "just a knife". :)

Funny you should mention say that. I am already looking at a Small 21 with wooden inlays.

I feel for you. I hope you find it worth the wait. I know I have so far. (Will need to EDC mine for a few weeks to make sure it "sticks".)

Thanks again,

congrats on the new winchester. it is really nice. i have always wanted one. haha, j/k.

none of my friends/family understand how i could spend north of $400 on a knife either. at least i can come here and feel normal. and now, so can you. :D

I understand the feeling you had waiting on yours. I had been pondering one and finally decided about 8pm one evening that I was going to get one. It was a terribly long night and then the drive to the shop that had it the next day seemed to take forever and its only 4 miles away.

Great knife so far and I come to the conclusion more everyday that it was worth every penny.

I drive a beatle. Took me some time, but its been painted over and will still take it over a merc today he he, because I can still work on the engine if something goes wrong!

How 'bout a nice Gremlin or AMC Pacer?

I think that is more accurate. I actually like the old Beetle models. So I rather the Gremlin comparison.

I love the new Sebenza. However, it is drawing too much attention at the office. I do not understand the aversion that people have to its blade size. So in response CRK is getting more business from me. Just got off the phone with them and ordered a Small 21 w/ Micarta inserts and an Umnumzaan!

Now the waiting begins again!
