Hello Everyone!!!!!
I FINALLY got to return to work today (YAY:)) Mother Nature decided to give us ice and snow (BOO:() so the normal 1/2 hour commute took a little longer but as soon as I pulled into the snow covered parking lot a HUGE Smile appeared on my face. I stepped into Busse Land and smelled that Sweet Smell of Home I know and LOVE. I want to Thank Everyone so much for helping out while I was gone. To each and everyone of YOU please be patient with me as I get my "Groove" Back. I do have bad news/good news. Bad News first, the shop has been infected with what I call the "Crud" its that virus that has been going around and it is the "Gift" that still keeps giving meaning it will not go away and is a giver. Giver meaning it just spreads and when you think you are better it spreads to others. With that being said Shipping and Production is a little behind so we apologize for delays on everything. Here is the Good News. Knives are shipping, new things are coming and 2018 is gonna EPIC.
XOXO

Nice to have you back, as always Amy-0. Do your best to stay sick-free. I've been sick for about a month, myself, just finally getting over it. Kept passing it back and forth between my wife, baby and myself. I wouldn't wish the current viruses that have been going around on anyone. :(

Hopefully y'all will be done with the crud asap!!
Its nice to read about someone like you ma'am who
likes their job!!
Best wishes out to you & your family, including the Busse crew!!

Lysol, hand sanitizer, masks, and latex gloves have been my LIFE for awhile.

Welcome back AMY !!!!!! Watch that damn "crud" though !! The flu that went through here last year was bad....worst I have ever seen (and that was backed up by not only the diagnosed cases but also, very sadly deaths). I was ill to one degree or another for over three months, even now (almost 5 months on) my sense of smell and taste is not what it was :( :(

Welcome back Am's!

What Andy said...
Our kids bring home every lurgy known to man from Day Care... and sure enough I got that killer flu... It was hectic... I seriously thought I was not going to pull through...!

Anyway, here's to a healthy, stress free 2018!

I have had that crud for 2 weeks now. Felt like it was trying to come on the week before Christmas but hit hard Christmas night. I have tried everything but none of the normal meds have touched it. Started feeling a little like it was getting better yesterday and today. Missed so much sleep the last couple weeks I have just sat around in a daze napping all day today.
So off kilter today I took left over Christmas money and ordered a pair of Levi's and payed the rest on my CC account instead of buying another knife.

Welcome Back Amy! Yeah the flu has been brutal on everyone. A couple weeks ago we were down to almost half the company out of commission and even had 2 end up in the hospital. For the first time ever I had got a flu shot and it still took me out for 2 days myself while the ones who didn't at least a week or more. I think our resistance is back up and finally back to full strength but it was very rough.
One of our owners had a crate of oranges shipped in from Florida and everyone medicated on citrus for a couple weeks. Between that, lysol and wet wipes and sanitizer we seem to have won the battle for now.
You got back just in time for the heat wave! First day above the teens for weeks! Oh- I see a big snow storm is on the way :D

My tip- stay away from little kids, they go to that germ factory called school and bring every virus known to man home everyday-

Great to see you "back in the saddle" Amy-0! Please do what it takes to keep yourself and those around you healthy (to the greatest extent possible).

Welcome back Amy !!!! !!!!

Stay away from that “ crud “ !! Lysol spray everything ! I came down with it over New Years weekend, was flat out for 48 hrs. The new viruses out there are horrible !

Welcome Back Zero!!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Welcome back Amy! For those of you who are ill, I wish you a speedy recovery!

Regarding cold/flu viruses, here is what I do. Ideally, prevention is best. I take at least 500 mg of chewable vitamin C daily (the brand I prefer is "Nature Made Chewable C" 500 mg – it is widely available at places like Walmart, drug stores and groceries). I also take 22 mg of zinc daily.

If I feel the slightest sign of a cold/flu (typically for me it is a sore throat), I will greatly increase my vitamin C intake to 500 mg of chewable vitamin C every hour or so until I feel better. I also increase the zinc to about 4 times daily (only for 1-3 days). You can buy in the pharmacy section of your favorite discount/drug store where cough drops are sold, zinc lozenges that contain vitamin C. Caution: too much zinc can be harmful, so follow the directions on the package.

If my best efforts at preventing a cold/flu fail, I still find that chewable vitamin C helps lessen the severity of the symptoms. If I do get a cold, I nearly always develop an upper respiratory infection with a runny nose and drainage into my throat; the vitamin C helps with this, and I will take it as often as every hour until the drainage decreases and my sinuses finally begin to feel normal. I also find that hot liquids help, especially lots of tea and soup. I normally drink green tea, but I prefer regular black tea when ill. I add about a teaspoon of honey to the tea to sweeten it. My favorite soup is Campbell's Healthy Request Chicken Noodle (the lower sodium is better if you have high blood pressure). Orange juice also seems to help, especially for a sore throat.

I have heard others recommend the following products, but I have not tried them:
- Zicam for colds;
- Tamiflu for the flu (from tamiflu.com, "take Tamiflu within 48 hours of flu symptom onset") A prescription is required.

Disclaimer: I am not a doctor, and I am not giving medical advice; I am just saying what has helped me for 40+ years of adult life. Some doctors might disapprove of the above, but I really don't care what they think because it works for me.

Dealing with the same “crud” here in SoCal. Hope everyone gets well soon.

My wallet won’t mind a slight delay.

Glad your back! I wonder what flavor of “smell” Busse Land has to offer?
