The day started poorly. I broke a belt on my sander. Then I went out to pick up the trash can. Walking back to the house I noticed my Jeep was sitting at a strange angle, front tire as flat as a pancake. Drug out the heavy air compressor. Had to use a long extension cord. Tripped out the circuit breaker. Ugh! Finally got it pumped up (easier than jacking it up and putting on the spare). Raced to the tire place, got held up by a long train as my tire deflated. But I made it and got the tire patched. But I got something today that made up for all that. Here it is!

Any day infi comes in the mail makes for a great day.

That's a fact. It's like a stress reliever. As I rushed to get to the tire place before my tire went flat again, a darned train decided to block traffic for while. Normally I would have been cussing to myself and getting all agitated, but I kept thinking of that new Busse back at the house that had just been delivered. I flew into a calm. MMMM new Busse to play with. Is this any way for a 61 year old man to act? :o

Do you use some sort of mechanical guide or go free-hand? If you use free hand you could be a surgeon man!

It's all free hand. No guides. I have to be in the "zone" to do it right. No hesitation, just one smooth stroke after another on each side until I get a wire edge. Then go to a finer grit and repeat. I finished with a 15 micron finishing belt (broke my 9 micron). Whenever I get a new machine, which has happened too much lately, I have to practice on it to get the feel of the machine. I use machetes for that. When I see that I can do a nice smooth edge, then I'll put a Busse to the belt.

BTW, INFI is much easier to grind than some steels, like 154CM.

Amy brightens every day for many of us!:thumbup::thumbup:
