Remember I mentioned that Kumar had gone home for a few days to help with the planting.
While he was gone Bura and Sanu made a couple of kobras that were left on order. Bura's version is already gone but here is a picture of one done by Sanu.
Now Sanu has his own preference of what he likes to make and it tends toward things like the UBE, BirGorhka AK, forward curving, models and similar good size khukuris. But when asked to make the slender lightweight kobra he put the file in the forge and came out with something as good as Kumar would have done. But, we must keep in mind that Sanu is about 35 years old, a master kami who has more than 20 years experience -- almost double Kumar. So, maybe it is not a huge surprise but I was moderately surprised the effort would come out so well. And he even marked the blades!
This Sanu Kumar Kobra (what the hell should we call it anyway?) is a bit over 18 inches and reads 15 oz. on my scales. The rig is an easy 10 out of 10. Excellently hardened, great fit and finish. It is light and quick and feels great in the hand and even greater when you are cutting air on your way to target.
Price is $95 delivered to your door. There are only two of the Sanu made kobras available.
Call or email if interested.
