Remember I mentioned that Kumar had gone home for a few days to help with the planting.
While he was gone Bura and Sanu made a couple of kobras that were left on order. Bura's version is already gone but here is a picture of one done by Sanu.

Now Sanu has his own preference of what he likes to make and it tends toward things like the UBE, BirGorhka AK, forward curving, models and similar good size khukuris. But when asked to make the slender lightweight kobra he put the file in the forge and came out with something as good as Kumar would have done. But, we must keep in mind that Sanu is about 35 years old, a master kami who has more than 20 years experience -- almost double Kumar. So, maybe it is not a huge surprise but I was moderately surprised the effort would come out so well. And he even marked the blades!

This Sanu Kumar Kobra (what the hell should we call it anyway?) is a bit over 18 inches and reads 15 oz. on my scales. The rig is an easy 10 out of 10. Excellently hardened, great fit and finish. It is light and quick and feels great in the hand and even greater when you are cutting air on your way to target.

Price is $95 delivered to your door. There are only two of the Sanu made kobras available.

Call or email if interested.

For the record, I would claim the second one if I hadn't already reached my khukuri limit for the month.

No matter. It will be gone to a good home in a matter of minutes.

Uncle, that is one nice Kobra and the price makes it a steal (no pun intended). But after only recently claiming the Sanu GS blem and one of the 3 village Chiruwa Sirupatis, I better save some money aside for groceries and the light bill.

It is a sweet blade at a bargain price, though. Someone is going to be really happy.

Uncle Bill, you will remember that I have looked at and returned a 27" Banspati and a Ganga Ram by Bura.I have never sent back anything from Sanu.

Bura and Barbra Strisand remind me of each other. Their technical mastery is awesome. Barbra's music is so well done it makes me almost feel guilty that I don't like it. And one of these days Bura will give one of his creations wings that even I can soar on.

Someone was saying that their KK would pierce the target's center half a second before his brain decided to make the move. That pretty well describes the symbiosis between me and Sanu's work.

I was at my nephews t-ball game , and I missed it . X-Head tried to give me a heads up , thanks for the try.
This was right on with what I'm looking for. That special blade with a little mojo in the mix . Maybe next time .

Streisand and khuks, who would have ever thunk it!? A most interesting comparison, Rusty.
