AN-58 Steel?

I have a buddy who has an M. Nieto knife and the blade steel is supposedly
AN-58.

What commonly known steel is close in performance to this? Thanks.

According to Gator97's steel chart, the composition of AN-58 is
_C_____Cr_____Mo___V
0.45___13.50__0.01__0.02

That would make it similar to 420HC
