Hey all,

Spent about 10 hours driving through the state of Indiana today. As luck would have it, I found some USA Schrades. I picked up 3 LB7's, 3 152OTs and a little Ulster. I found a little place in a small town that is a gun and knife shop. Guy had a ton of knives in there but very few Schrades. Bought 2 LB7's that are etched with "Sportsmen United For Conservation & Preservation" Limited Edition 1 of 500. It was the last two Schrades he had in the store. They have the rosewood handles and are stamped Uncle Henry Schrade+ LB7 U.S.A. Felt guilty about handing him a $50 bill and leaving like I stole something. He also had a yellow celluloid small 2 blade Ulster knife that I gave $12 for. But, as I was winding my way down to southern Indiana, I came across a True Value Hardware Store. He had a LB7 that was originally priced $55 on the display board (I may go back and see if he wants to sell the display) that he sold to me for $24. I then noticed 3 152 OTs back behind the display. He sold them to me at $20 each. All of these are NIB with paperwork. Sometimes, work can be like Christmas :D I know I've said that I'm not into fixed blades, but at $20 a pop, I could learn to like them real well:o . I may have to try and sell a couple to feed my growing addiction. Is there a 12-step program available for us? I'm glad I haven't kept track of what I've spent and don't intend to. If I were to actually write it down, that would just give the spousal unit ammunition. Thanks for listening....I was so excited and my wife just sighed when I told her over the phone that I had to tell someone that would be as excited as I was.

I've had a few Schrade days like you described. Feels damn good to see and make that instant bid for a knife behind a counter instead of sweating it out for 5 days on EBAY.

I started to get into an argument with a gravelly throated merchant at a gun show when I told him there were these kinds of days. He was disputing it, probably because he had a meager selection of Schrades in his knife case that were way over priced.

I thought about arguing, then remembered my philosophy about arguing with an idiot.

The funny thing about it is most of these folks are willing to sell them cheaper because they've had them forever. It somehow made the 10 hours of driving I did today worth it. I also try to employ your philosophy of arguing with an idiot. Every time I do, I'm never sure just who came out looking like the biggest idiot. Now, if I could ever get past the road rage........

I have found that a Schrade in the pocket is much better for road rage than a .45.
If I had had a .45 in my car instead of a Schrade in my pocket during the years I commuted for 3-6 hours per day, there would be a few less idiots on the road, but I would not be making knives today...............they frown on that in prison! :D :D
