After being cooped up in the house with some seriously crappy weather for the entire winter we decided to get out a bit today. It was above 0 and I decided to take the kids for a walk to the park. To start the day off we added the BK2 to the EDC.

I then made some lunch before going. Need to get the kiddo's energy up.

After eating I got the kids dressed and we got out. I loaded my daughter into the backpack and my son jumped on his radio flyer tricycle and off to the park we went. Along the way we were able to see that the city has been taking its sweet time cleaning up after the ice storms.

If anybody asks... I battoned that tree down with my 2.
We go to the park and the kids went on their merry way doing what kids do best. I entertained myself around the park.

I got an idea while sitting and watching the kids run around. Its about a 5min walk to and from the park and I had no doubt that the little guys legs would be too tired to carry him all the way home when we were done on his bike. I grabbed the 2 and went to work on a small tree. I ended up making a walking stick that I notched out in the base to fit the bottom of my son's tricycle.

This way if he got tired or stuck on snow I could just give him a nice boost. While posing on one of the slides my daughter started to freak out a little and my son had a super forced smile but I had the camera ready haha.

After playing on the swings and running around a little more it was time to go home. Sure enough as I guessed they both started to get tired and my stick worked like a charm.

As for the other one, being in the backpack means you can just lay back and k.o

We made it home and got everybody settled for the afternoon. I then gave the 2 a bath and a quick strop on some 3k grit paper with some mineral oil and put her to bed. Now I have to get some ideas for dinner!

Cheers,

Tim

That is seriously awesome here today is 16c so it is comparatively balmy here. Been cleaning cars today. Angel looks damn near radiant! My brother got a new "Been shaggin" wagon so we cleaned, waxed, and loaded it up with the kiddies goodies.

Great post TBL!

It looks like the kids had fun and your one hell of a bushcrafter. Never seen the push stick before.

That right there is the famed Canadian ingenuity. Careful though....that catches on, you'll displace curling as Canada's second most favorite sport.....
