I found a large cutting board made from Pyrex glass on sale at the grocery store. I bought it to apply sandpaper to and use it for sharpening. It has a nice rolled edge , not unlike the top of a car window. A custom maker
from North Carolina told me years ago that the edge of a car window will sharpen up blades . I never tried it, but the though entered my mind when I looked closely at the pyrex.

I found a knife that wasn't too dull but needed the edge touched up. After several light strokes back and forth along the edge of the glass, I stopped to check out the edge and it was super sharp. The piece of glass will make a great
addition sharpening equipment . I think I'll buy another piece just to keep as a spare.

Pretty cool. I love finding stuff to strop on. I'll keep my eyes open for stuff to sharpen on as well. I saw a youtube video of a guy using a car window some time back. Maybe I'll give it a shot. I also want to try the fabled coffee mug. ;)

Oh and btw, I had to quote your post in order to read it. I use a forum app in black and couldn't see anything in the body of your post, but I suspected that there might be something there. :D
