To all here who may remember me, I will have to apologize for not being able to attend this years Blade Show.

Military commitments this year have taken priority. If I was home, it wouldn't be such a problem, but being stationed in California is.

I know I have not been heard from in a long time, but the aforementioned priorities have kept me going for quite some time now.

I hope that this year finds everyone well.

I also hope that someone else will step up and take my place as the only kilted member to walk the aisles of the show, not just afterwards at the induction.

Again, for those that remember me, I'll try to attend next year.

Hope you all have a good time, as usual.

Ed...

Oh, I'll be looking for some pics to be posted here, of course.

Ed, it was a pleasure meeting you at the induction dinner last year, and thanks for the folder advice (I went with the SMF). Hopefully we'll see you there next year. Take care and thanks for your service !

Hello Ed!

We won't make it this year either. Hope to see you next year. Don't know if you saw this pic from last year, we shared a dinner table. How many knives and flashlights did you have in that kilt? :D

hi ed-
i'm not gonna be there either. thank you for your service!
we'll meet there again, perhaps next year.

I know its not the same but you could always come up to Portland Or in Sept for the Blade West show and hang with the West Coast Hogs.

Forgot to ask. What Branch and where are you stationed?

No, it's not the same, once you've been to Atlanta. I have been to the West Coast Blade in 2003, when I was again stationed at Ft Hunter Liggett, CA. It was fun nonetheless.

As for branch: Army
Stationed: Ft Hunter Liggett, CA

As for the rest of you, Thanks. I hope to get there next year. Just post pics.

At least I'm remembered as that"kilt wearin' guy", even if no one knows me by name.

Kinda cool, if you think about it...

We know your name, just figured you were incognito... ;)

See ya next year bro...

I have not made the pilgramage yet. It will be a few years still unfortantly. (Young kids; not enough money that kind of thing)
Well if you change your mind about Blade West I'll be there.

I had a chance to see Ft Hunter Liggett and the Hacienda when I was there in 99 for a Field Ex. We were operating out of a small airfield and did a great job pissing off the locals apparantly. There must have been 20+ of them that showed up in their corvettes to have a word with the MAG Col and protest all the noise our helos were making. The base seemed to be pretty well deserted but I did not see the whole thing so who knows.

Ft Hunter Liggett has 165,000 acres of training area.

Not too many locals to piss off around here...

Apparantly we must have been in the right area or they just did not like our CH-53s and 46s disturbing their dinner parties.
I'm not exactly sure what part of the base we were on. I remember being able to walk to the Hacienda from where we were quartered. We flew in and flew out and local transport was as far as you wanted to walk so I did not see much beyond the immediate area.
