An apology to a Fine Knife Maker (my favorite, even without Ek Commando).

I apologize to John, and only to John.
I opened a seemingly harmless thread in this hosted forum, because that's where I was, and that was a mistake, I should have opened it elsewhere (I quickly requested a different forum category in Blade Forums but that was not allowed). I forgot that the entire Blade Forums Gen Pop enters the JK Forum. I was thinking I was among friends and not the whole damned internet when I made my post, figuring on a few ideas & a few chuckles I suppose, from frequent JK forum members. When the error of my ways was pointed out to me, I responded with pleas to Blade Forums Moderators to move or close the runaway thread, which they did That's great. however, I have now been publicly called out as a troll by these same mods. Those of you who have appreciated or tolerated my dry humour will understand that any future posts I might make may be instantly deemed as TROLL FOOD, this is never my intent. Now that my intent has been called to question, I will simply say, I have no energy to fight the World Wide Webs minions, and will not. All to much time I have spent on this forum and that time in the future will hopefully be spent on other meaningful endeavors. So, John .... once again, sorry for, (to paraphrase one of your loyal customers), "pooping in your parlor"

Stay sharp my friends!

When your local government bans your favorite knife, please be careful where you speak about it, just in case it becomes a political thread.

PS The Obama knife idea was not entirely fictitious, but had nothing to do with JK Knives (and was, therefor, in the wrong place).

Haters are quick to call someone a Troll when they don't share or understand a poster's point of view.:grumpy:

Being the long time acquaintance (as in decades) of John's that you are,(which the people that jumped down your throat probably didn't realize you were) I can see where you wouldn't have a second thought about starting the thread here.
I sure as hell didn't have a problem with it, but I hate all politicians. (stinking low life pieces of crap that they are)
I guess that makes me a hater too and I'm fine with that.:p

Also, as stated, this is John's hosted forum and as long as John doesn't object, the occasional political jabs should be ok here in his house.
If I'm not mistaken, as I've seen it many times, the rules in the hosted, i.e. 'paid for' forums are or can be, more relaxed than the other forums here on BF.

I personally like your sense of humor and get a good chuckle out of your humorous posts & I hope this incidence doesn't discourage you from posting here in the future.:D

Viva la Revolucion!

Labeled a troll just because you were trolling. The injustice of it all.

Good on you for the apology, though.

Thanks for the apology, I never even saw the thread until after it was moved. I don`t suppose alcohol had anything to do with it? ;)

All that being said I don't come to this forum to have someone's political or religious beliefs (or any other theories or beliefs that don't relate to the subject of knife making, using and admiring - no matter how the "belief" is linked to knives) shoved into my face. There is way too much "hate" and strident personal opinions being thrown around in this world and country without regard for anyone else's beliefs or point of view. I don't need to open myself up to it here on John's site.

Glad the post was not encouraged and that it was moved.

With respect to us all - I certainly have my own views about politicians and how things should or should not be done in our fair country but no matter how I agree or disagree with the intent of the post being discussed - it had no place in this forum. One man's comedy can easily be another man's hate speech. Let's leave that out of here please.

Wow. I have read some crazy threads in the years on BF, but this one took top prize. B Jackson, I don't think you were being a troll or in any way malicious, yet some of the guys in the thread went to unbelievable lengths to act like they had an axe to grind.

Smile, carry on, and bring on more knives!

Having once posted a thread that was inappropriate here and then finding myself posting a similar apology the next day I can relate. John's forum really reminds me of a place where friends gather to "chew the fat" and talk about many different things in an open kind of environment. Occasionally, some comments may be a bit off color, but that will happen.

To those that seem to think it is their place to chastise Brad or comment about his posts, lets keep in mind that this is John's forum, Brad and John have been friends for decades and, perhaps, there is really only one person that should have the right to make those comments and that person is John.

I've had the pleasure of hanging out with Brad at a Gathering. I don't believe his intent was to troll.

Perfectly related.
