When I posted the mini review of this knife, my buddy Duder asked to see some kitchen shots. So, the next big meal meant putting the Asp to work in a culinary capasity :)

The meal was a chuck roast...

Which naturally needed vegetables to go with it....

Now, the Asp does have a bit of a guard, so no it's not the perfect kitchen knife, but after years of preparing meals in the field using knives with much larger guards, this really wasn't an issue for me. Ka-Bars are more of a pain to be sure, and just try fixing a huge pot of rabbit stew using a Western W49...yeah, that was fun. Anyway, I digress, and that's enough talk of lesser knives, so back to the Asp :) Even with the 5/32 thickness on the narrow blade it did really well. It handled the slicing of carrots, potatotes, onions, and mushrooms with ease, and looked damn fine doing it I might add. So, I thought I'd post a few pics of it in use in the kitchen :)

Sorry, no pics of the finished meal, It was our 9th wedding anniversary. I put this meal on at 7am, and didn't break out a camera when I served it.

Allen's Patriot model will be getting a workout soon, and I'll see how it does in the kitchen :)

Much appreciated Brian. Great pics man! I can almost smell the chuck roast.

Great, now I'm craving a chuck pot roast.

Sniff sniff, my asp was such a good girl, I'll miss her so. [duder packs up his asp for shipping as a trumpet plays Taps in the background]

Thanks man, and I'm glad you liked the post :)

Those really are some big Mist mitts.

Happy anniversary bud. :)

Lol, everybody says my hands are big...Rick Marchand said they looked like bunches of bananas...I'm starting to get a complex here :p

Thank you sir, it was happy indeed :)

Oh trust me man, I have sniffled as I boxed a few of them this past winter....

Yes, great pics as always Mist! Just want to reiterate that all your shots and reviews are greatly appreciated around here. Now I need an asp!

Thanks man! Yeah, I think Andy's knives need to be seen from multiple angles to be fully appreciated :)

I got one posted in the flea market....she's a beaut....great price!

Nice pics yet again mist. Love it. Potatoes: skin on, Carrots: skin on. Pick it from the garden (or your local fresh market) and throw it in, best way to go!

I am really looking forward to the workout on Allen's Patriot as well. Was just staring at my muskrat last night, the more I hold it and play with it, the more I love it. Something just primal about the one I have.

The only way to go :)

Yeah, I really dig this knife. It feels awesome in hand, and is smaller than I thought from the pics which is great for me. I forgot to ask Allen what steel this one is though, and will find out soon enough :D

Yeah, someone did a compare thread with the patriot and the hiking buddy a few weeks ago, very similar size. That particular one is O1 and the burlap is made by a buddy of mine who I have roped into becoming a handle material producer and stabilizer, lol. I am looking forward to your thoughts and review, thank you for your time as always!
