When I posted the mini review of this knife, my buddy Duder asked to see some kitchen shots. So, the next big meal meant putting the Asp to work in a culinary capasity
The meal was a chuck roast...
Which naturally needed vegetables to go with it....
Now, the Asp does have a bit of a guard, so no it's not the perfect kitchen knife, but after years of preparing meals in the field using knives with much larger guards, this really wasn't an issue for me. Ka-Bars are more of a pain to be sure, and just try fixing a huge pot of rabbit stew using a Western W49...yeah, that was fun. Anyway, I digress, and that's enough talk of lesser knives, so back to the Asp
Even with the 5/32 thickness on the narrow blade it did really well. It handled the slicing of carrots, potatotes, onions, and mushrooms with ease, and looked damn fine doing it I might add. So, I thought I'd post a few pics of it in use in the kitchen
Sorry, no pics of the finished meal, It was our 9th wedding anniversary. I put this meal on at 7am, and didn't break out a camera when I served it.
Allen's Patriot model will be getting a workout soon, and I'll see how it does in the kitchen
