Well, when I won Fausto's GA, I got a Sardinian knife and cheese and sausage and I was blown away by the generosity. I decided to pay it forward by giving away a SAK officer's knife that had been given to me. And I sent along a bottle of wine to test the corkscrew. Vic (Confucius37) won, and then I lagged and lagged, but I finally got it into his hands.

Well, we all know how generous everyone here is. He sent me three of his fine homemade beers and this. Now, if you have been paying attention (which Vic had), you know I love TL-29s and Schrade Walden knives with a silly passion. I couldn't believe that this knife showed up at my door. It is beautiful. F&F perfect. Nice walk and talk. It's just beautiful. So, thanks to Fausto and to Vic. I wish the pics did it justice. I was going to prop them against the beer bottles, but...um...something happened to them a few days ago. ;)

Thanks Vic!!!!

BTW, Vic put an edge on it before he sent it and it might be the sharpest knife I own. ;) This knife and the knife from Fausto mean the world to me and will someday go to my daughters.

Really nice knife. Very generous. How were the beers? :)

That's probably the nicest TL-29 I've ever seen. You guys are such a great bunch!

Awesome Dan -

Agreed. The knife is a beauty. They just don't make working knives like that anymore. It's perfect. And the beer was the best I've ever had. My wife even liked it. :( ;)

Sweet!

If anyone gave me wine, or beer, I would have to give it away (probably to my older brother, as he imbibes).

I would love the knife though (and probably pet it, and hug it, and name it George).

I always enjoy these threads!

Flymon sent me a real beautiful Yellow Rose single clip blade Northfield #23 pattern, that I am still enjoying immensely! It did the trick for getting me into traditional slip joints!

The astronomers forever search the sky for that one diamond, that glimmer of the treasures of antiquity. Few come to find those celestial jewels in this terrestrial realm, intact and protected from the corrosion of time. Even better, with a maturer golden and autumnal tint, fit for inheritance of generations yet to be.

Those generations will be rich indeed, with these treasures destined to sustain and nourish the imaginations of the seekers of the classics, as the Vatican is filled with Vedas and Zendavestas and Bibles, with Homers, Dantes and Shakespeares, and all the centuries to come shall have successively deposited their trophies in the forums of the world. By such a pile we may hope to scale Heaven.

For your passion of all things Walden - to paraphrase Henry David Thoreau (almost..kinda sort of).

Hey Dan, I'm really glad you like the knife and beers! Thanks for posting the pics, that is one sweet TL29 and I couldn't think of a better person to be carrying it!

Great thread, nice gestures, the people of this community are the best, over 11 years here and over 10,000 posts, (hopefully most of 'em had some value and not too many stupid ones by me) this is why I'm still here, most of you folks here are the best and the traditional forums exemplifies what a forum community should be.

I'm proud to be a member here and proud to call most of you folks here friend.

The people of this community are the best that I have ever encountered in my lifetime. I hope that some day I can repay a fraction of the generosity that I have been shown here.

That is a fantastic gift.

By the way. The sharpest knife you own? I'm not surprised. I often tout their steel as being my favorite for putting razor edges on.

That's a really good looking TL-29. The way you got it makes it even better.
