My girlfriend is leaving for 6 weeks, and I thought I would get her a little gift before she left. Since being with me she has grown to apprciate knives, and EDC utility, just a week ago she mentioned how she wished she had a few things she could carry. Here is what I came up with

Mini Bic Lighter
Fenix E01 Flashlight
Leatherman Micra
Sewing kit (Thread, safety pins, needles, buttons, measuring tape)
Waxed Dental floss (in tin foil to keep it from stuff sticking to it, used as cordage and for hygiene)
Neosporin in straw
Fatwood
Female Sanitary Product
x2 hairties
x2 heavy duty bandaids
x2 70% alocohol swabs under the bandaids taped up so I didn't take them out
and a paper clip.

Not pictured are some small bits of meds like allergy meds and tylenol, but i'll put them in there after i show them to her.

I think its a REALLY good kit, and I'm so jealous, I just placed an online order to make my own.

Thanks for the look guys, I hope she likes it.

Looks great! I gave my gf a Vic Recruit that she can carry around, once she gets used to that I may upgrade it to a tin like this. If your gf likes this, she seems like a keeper

throw some rubber bands in there. pretty useful and take up virtually no space

edit: i see you have hair ties in there. same thing :P

It is an altoids tin, and she absolutely LOVES it.
Orangish. i've showed her the leek before, she is not a fan. She has already designed herself a pocket fixed blade, I just have to find someone who can make it..

Haha that made me laugh a bit.

OP, how do you like the E01? I just picked one up for my keychain. I got it for the cost/battery life, but was worried about its lack of lumens. However, I've been finding that I rarely need any more power than what the E01 gives me as far as my EDC uses go.

I love the EO1! So much so that i own 5 or 6 of them. You wont find a better light for 10-12 bucks. They are perfect for a "survival" situation due to the long battery life and carrying an extra AAA battery doesnt take up much space.

I havent used it extensively and I also gave that one away, but its very small, its a solid light, and for sure it beats nothing. I'm no flashlight freak, so I can't spit out any facts or specs.. But I can say for a 12 dollar flashlight, it def beats everything at the general store / home depot or the like...

Yup! That battery life is perfect for making sure it works when you need it most.

Hey quick question, how did you get the neosporin into the straw?

That is a really creative idea

Hey quick question, how did you get the neosporin into the straw?

really simple,

first i picked up a straw from 7-11 on my way home. then I cut a small section off. Then I quickly melted one end of the straw, and pinched it with the needle nose pliers on my leatherman juice. it may take a few re-heatings and pinches to get the end sealed. then i took a standard tube of neosporin and squeezed some in till the straw was about 90% full. Then I heated the other end until lightly melted, and pinched it shut. I squeezed the straw a few times to check and make sure it was sealed, and it took a few more pinches to seal it up 100% but it was really easy.

I would add a couple of the mini one-use tubes of crazy glue for quick sealing cuts.

Though that is a good idea, there isn't enough room left in the tin.

take a bic pen tube and cut it to the with of a roll of duct tape and wrap say 5 or 10 feet of duct tape around the tube and you have a small but hugely useful amount of strong tape for fixing anything on hand and add a few smaller or medium sized Zip Ties those things can fix any thing in a pinch that the tape will not cover. i used one to fix my throttle linkage on my truck when I was working on a remote construction site and damned if it did not last over 3 years before I fixed it with the proper part.
