This topic has come up from time to time...and it needs to be once again brought to the top...

How about a Production Version of The Bodyguard? I was just perusing the Emerson Custom Gallery and was trying to decide what was not too big nor too little for Street Carry, and this seems to be the one.

What do you folks think?

Put that Puppy in a Shoulder Rig...see how that sells.

Besides, it's time for a Fixed Blade Fighter from EKI!

I have pondered the possibilities of an EKI production fixed fighter.
Something in Black-T would be sweet!! :)

I have a Picture of a Warrior , Bodyguard ,Strider folder and a CQC6 side by side for Size comparison.

Email me if you are interested in seeing the picture

From the "Dream Knife" string:

Quote John Hollister:
A "Tactical" Fixed Blade (with a Kydex sheath like the one at Blade). I'd like to see an "A" style and a "B" style. Perhaps built around the "Mirage" design. Maybe two sizes, "regular" and "OH MY GOD!"

I would go for a mean fixed blade from EKI. The Bodyguard looks good, but I'd prefer a handle on it similar to the Trident or Phaser.

Count me in! That Bodyguard is sweet!:D

I've been wanting a 4-5" Tanto PUK for a while. This is just about the same thing.

I want one to carry in a shoulder rig, and don't want it too large or too small. Five inch blade would be very nice.

The "Emerson Tanto Blade" is a must. As is a true Chisel Grind, meaning entirely flat on one side.

Shoulder rig and production EKI fixed blade. Between you guys and Strider, I am going to be poor. Oh well,
Reed

I have to agree, true chisel grind(on left side if possible), 5" tanto shape blade, and dare I dream: micarta scales?

How about a 5" fixed bladed Commander or Mach-1? :D Someone else posted the idea a while back, but I thought it had merit.

Fixed Commander

I'll second Brigadier's idea :D A production fixed Commander would be a thing of beauty!

Someone posted a fixed Ryan "commander look a-like" a while back. Do you think you could post that picture again?

You may be refering to the Ryan Recurve Neck Knife that I got trom Tamishigiri. Awesome little fixed blade.

If you guys are looking for awesome chisel ground fixed blades get hold of Brazilian cutliero Ivan Campos (do a search). I have his Standard Tanto in K-100 (a.k.a. D-3) steel... and I bet his prices would be more than competitive with an Emerson custom anything.

If I just wanted anything, I would stick to Martin or Snody [JSP when available] Chisel Ground Kwaikens. The whole reason I want the Emerson FB that I want, is because I like that. And in order for me to get what I want from another Maker, I would have to encourage them to rip Ernie's design off. Which I cannot and will not ever do. The reason behind my whole Thread on this subject is, I have held Ernie's Fixed Blades, and I appreciate their qualities for Defensive Purposes.

It is not the large thumb ramp area, not the integral guard, not the unique Tanto profile, not the grip and not the fact that it is Chisel Ground, it is all of these things coming together to make an effective package that I desire. And the only way I can get that is to get it from EKI. It's that simple.

I never have the cash on hand when an Emerson Custom FB comes up for sale, so, the only thing I can hope for is that EKI will make a Production Version and it will not have a funky "Chisel Hybrid," but a real Chisel Grind. And I cannot get anyone else to do it because that would be ripping Ernie off.

I couldn't agree with you more Don. I recently purchased a Police Utility from EKI. It is nice but It just dosen't fit the bill. Something with a true chisel grind and Micarta handles would be a big seller.

We don't need no stinking modifications! We need an EMERSON FIXED BLADE! Hahahha!

Anyone at EKI listening? :::whistling:::
