Hey Guys. I had an interesting week this week with three big things happen. The machetes are getting some parkerizing, and duracoat camo patterns on them. I made a hidden tang knife, certainly a rarity. I've not made one in over 1200 knives. And I worked with bone for the first time ever this week. I posted pics of the others, but check out this smooth bone handled Hiking Buddy. Its bone on natural canvas micarta with nat can pins and bullseye tube. I jigged the bone, and dyed it too. I really like working with Bone. It is sold. Sorry about that, but I will make more.
Folks, I don't know why, but for some reason since I designed the Bourbon Street Skinner I can suddenly grind Swedges. I mean fearlessly. I have always been so intimidated during cleanup if there was a swedge. Ruined knives a lot. Something clicked recently. So here are a few knives with swedges available for y'all to purchase. Let me know what y'all think.
First up is a Bourbon Street Skinner. The handle is simply black canvas micarta. It has black pins that disappear, and one mosaic pin. The steel is 5/32" thick 3D Spalted 01. Also exciting is that Rick Lowe has this pattern, and I will soon have his sheaths available for it! $280 for the knife. I can ship it now and when Rick sends the sheaths sell one and send it on then.
Also available today is this beauty of a pointy Bushboot wearing black and white burlap micarta. $270 shipped for this knife with a Heber sheath.
I made a good bit of Bushboots this week. I love this model. I carried one for a year. Its good. This one is Tuxedo Configuration handled. Black Canvas Micarta over natural canvas with nat pins and bullseye tube and slim white pinstripe. $240 shipped with a pretty Heber sheath.
I made a lot of Hiking Buddies this week. The two Scandi ones are made from 3/32" thick 3D Spalted 01. They are Scary slicers. One has a Cocobolo over black handle and the other a nat canvas over black canvas. The convex one is 5/32" thick steel with pretty natural burlap scales. It costs $270 shipped with a Heber sheath.
