Ebay bomb Tech

I wanted one of these bad... and found one last week for much, much less. I had a question about the knife, however, so who do you think I turned to? Bernard Levine? Schrade company themselves? The MIL knife moderator over at KnifeForums?

Nope. I emailed our very own LT and he gave me a thumbs up on the cheap (relatively) one I had found. Saved me a bundle.

Just wanted to embarass LT with a public thank you and remind all you guys about the terrific resource-- and person-- we have in our midst.

Thank you, LT

Regards,
Phil

Phil,
Interesting knife. Could you explain why the knife has a ruler and what that would mean to a Bomb Tech? Would it have uncovered the 200lb er under the land mine you told us about?

Would a non metal knife be safer in digging around for explosives?

P.S. check your bulk mail! ;)

Hiya Larry. Got the knife today and it is a beauty. Fast shipping. Rhe tip is just as perfectly blunt as it is supposed to be. The ruler? Offhand, I can think of measuring fuses. Also has a neat dangling thing to hold electrical tape. Place for blasting cap crimpers as well, and a pocket that I need to get a Schrade all stainless military camp knife to put into. Even serial numbered. Has a notch on the blade for stripping wire. All-in-all, it's perfect for what is was made for. And I anyone in Iraq that needs one of these has one.

Wish I would have had this thirty four years ago. And yes, something non-metalic, or even non-magnetic steel is better for probing for sophisticated land mines than the a bayonet. Would it had helped me find that biggie? Naw... Experience and age would have helped, but not this cool blade.

'Scuse me, have to go check my mail. Everybody protected against the latest Virus?

thanks again LT

Phil
