I wanted to take a few minutes to explain my recent absences from the forum and also explain one of the reasons the Company store isn't up and running yet. As many of you know I've been on the forums sporadically the last month because of a family emergency. I appreciate your patience with me while I've been dealing with this issue.
On February 27, 2005 my Father passed away at the age of 72. He was a Father of 5, Grandfather of 10(so far), Great Grandfather of 1. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was heavily involved in many local activities and was a great supporter of anything his childern were involved in.
My Nephew (his grandson) who is in college in Istanbul, Turkey wrote the following tribute that sums up my thoughts about my Dad.
"I have been thinking much about grandpa and our family over the last several days so I am not surprised that as I sat down to type this I am reminded again of a movie I have seen so many times, probably my favorite movie of all time, "It's a Wonderful Life". Though I have always loved the movie, I use to think the director had probably exaggerated the influence one life could have on the world. Now however, I think it is just as likely a gross underestimation as being an exaggeration.
Likewise as I try to think of a story to share about grandpa, I realized the best story I could share is the story of the lives we are living now. Mostly, over the last four days I have just been thinking about how blessed I am to have known grandpa, and how blessed I am to be a part of his family and his legacy. So much so in fact that I have been telling all my friends. I believe there is a poet inside everyone, and though it may not always manifest itself in prose, or rhyme or meter, I believe it is still there. I also believe that there are men of faith, who, though we cannot always recognize it at the time, shape the very world in which they live. I saw Jesus in grandpa here and I am sure he is with him now. I am so grateful that God has given me such a wonderful family. Grace and Peace to you all in Jesus Christ."
So please forgive my tardiness and thanks to Warren and Mike Wood (thatmguy) who have been helping out on the forums while I've been away. Also a thank you to Holli who has been picking up my slack on answering emails.
I'll do my best to catch up on everything else this week.
Eric
