Its been a while since I last started a thread here about Rat knives. I do remember a while back the the company Ontario and RAT were battling it out over legal issues. Now the company is changed to what it is now. :thumbup:
So my question to other members is: Do you guys feel a sense of bad mojo towards others posting pictures of the old RAT knives made by Ontario?
The only reason Im asking is, I and I'm sure others on here have the older knives made by Ontario. I have a RAT 7 and a RAT 3. I have put them to test and they keep asking for more.
I dont want to cause any issues over anything. I'm just curious that's all. I just don't want to start posting pics up or anything of the sort if its going to start a flaming war.

You won't find any ill will here. As capable as the Ontario RAT's are, I just like the ESEE/RAT's better and find them to have a little higher quality. No worries.
 
ESEE isn't a war zone. But this is its manufacturer forum.

Ontario is a completely different company. While it doesn't have a forum here, you could post about their knives in the General Knife Discussion or Knife Reviews and Testing.

It's still not acceptable if it's "wrapped" in a pair of Orange ESEE Survival Underwear.

Other knives are fine... many people have knives from other manufacturers - no problem.

If someone were to try to come here, into our house, and start saying how ESEE knives are junk compared to blah blah brand, then there may be some feathers ruffled - but some would still shrug it off. That's just how we are on this forum.
 
the Ontario RATs are still "family", and as others have mentioned... nobody's gonna get bent out of shape if you post a pic of some other custom or production knife.

it seesms to be more about what you're doing with the tools than who's tool you're using. just don't be A tool.

I have seen many 'other' knives posted on this forum (customs & Busse for example), and whilst not directly related to Esee, I think that the posts have been related to the outdoors or survival in general; so useful. I certainly do not have a problem with it, nor do I think the fine people such as Mr. Randall & Perrin, as I have witnessed their mutual respect for other makers direct. I say go for it!
