In days past i have stropped some of my knives with cardboard, not the most effective thing ever but it worked. Anyway I got a knife yesterday that came rather dull. somehow i came up with the "brilliant" idea of placing a little cardboard wheel on my cordless drill/impact. i turned the settings on my drill to high speed and the lowest torque. turns out it worked quite well. polished up the edge a bit. tempted to try the set up again with the highest grit sandpaper i can find. or maybe apply a stropping compound to some cardboard. sure someone will get a kick out of this.

TLDR idiot has access to power tools.

That sounds like an awesome idea for what went into it. Probably not course enough to set the edge? How sharp did it get?

somewhat sharp, a step up from what it was, take in consideration the knife i used was a crkt sting, which has a crappy edge to begin with, for serious sharpening it seems i need something a bit courser, hence the sandpaper/stropping compound idea.
