Andy,
You asked awhile ago for some ideas on increasing knife sales. Well, it's not so much about knives, but did you ever consider making firesteels to go along with your knives ? Matching wood patters with the knife handle.
And of course sending a free one to the guy who came up with the idea.

I have. Actually, I've made quite a few. I used to buy them in bulk, but then it just kinda died by the wayside.

I can make you one. I have a bag of firesteels downstairs. But they're a little skinney for the sheaths I have. I have more coming in!

Are they the sweedish LMF, or the "misch metal"? I prfer the LMF...

I've found that I prefer the 'standard' firesteel type over the misch metal as well, Jake.

yeah, I just have better luck igniting tinder faster w/ fewer strikes with the standard. That, and I think they last longer. I know its differant technique that works with the "misch metal" variety, so with me it just comes down to personal preferance.
