An Interesting 112 Maybe?

It looks good with the NS. The price is a bit high but not for one with box and all the paperwork. Odd it didn't come with a brown sheath instead of the black one.

Those 25yr. Anniversary knives are hard to find . Note the anniversary date and the mfg. date don't agree then the date doesn't agree with when the 112 came out . Those dates were for the 25yrs. of 110 and Buck celebrated it with the 112 as well . Those have always been confusing to me . DM

Yes, as I understand it the knife was a mistake from the very beginning, since the anniversary was actually that of the 110 and not the 112.

I guess that's what makes this knife interesting. I wouldn't be interested in the 110.

The date stamp is 1986 and the earliest I've seen previously is 1987 so I don't suppose there are a huge number of 86s around.

Yep another case of grabbing whatever blades were available and a few old ones were in the bunch. Thanks for posting this BG, I don't think I have seen one with an 86 year stamp before. The 112 came out in 1972 and was not 25 years old when these knives were first issued...LOL. The 25 year 110's & 112's were made for many, many years, take a look at the old catalogs.

Great info. JB.... Thanks... ITE ...:eek::confused:

Yeah, thanks for the link, JB.

I just happened to notice the 1986 date mark and it clicked that I had never seen one before. Lucky. The clicks get more rare as I get older.

Anyhow, that will be one to watch for in the future.

:)

yes it is one to watch for
not every one collects the girly knife
and a 25 year one is a must for display
but that is jest HO

Thanks, Dave.......have you seen an '86 mark on one of these?

Edbeau mentioned the sheath......should it have brown instead?

I have several of these knives and I just checked one and it has an 86 stamp on it. I also have one with brass bolsters. One of my 25th 110's has the 90 stamp on it.

the 25 year logo was supplied to any that wanted to sell it
and it was sold by buck several times i think
to me - a collection may ought to have one each in nickel and brass
the brass is not so common on the 112 but
again if it was possable to put it together at budk
most likely it was..
