In 1998, Jerry Busse suffered a knifemaker's worst
nightmare. His hand was literally destroyed when a
piece of metal, 1/2 inch in diameter, was blown
completely through his palm and lower wrist. After
several surgeries and coundess sessions in physical
rehabilitation, Jerry Busse now understands more
about the human hand than he had ever hoped to
know. His gain in knowledege will now directly benefit
you, the customer.

In conjunction with his orthopedic surgeon and
physical therapist, Jerry has redesigned the Busse
Combat grade fixed blade models to be the most
ergonomicaUy-friendly handles to ever stand behind
an INFI blade. Our new Diamond Quilted Micarta™
handles are attached using industrial grade extruded
fasteners that are compression fired under 10 tons of
pressure and provide 5 times the shear strength of
handle bolts, thus nearly eliminating vibration
tranference. This gready reduces hand fatigue during
heavy usage. The Diamond Quitted Micarta™ handles
ensure that your grip is secure even under wet or
slippery conditions.

I remember that. He made an uglier battle mistress that felt really good in the hand, lol. We all rushed to go find straight handles when the E's started coming out.

My Ergo Badger Attack thanks jerry for effing up his hand. Best thing that happened to my edc rotation.

Yes, and then the fusions and many others followed not long after the ergos... very good progression of benefit from a very unfortunate life experience. Thankfully the Bosshog healed up and did not stop making sweet blades!

Thanks for the article. Have all the handle types, prefer the straights. TAC the best of those...;-)

The fusion handles are the best for me. I like them all but for full tang knives, those are the most ergonomic with use.

I hope that some day I can be half as good with 2 hands as Jerry was with one. Absolutely amazing what he can do.

I worked a miracle once. I passed the 8th grade the third time around. Things just weren't the same since..... Since the accident.........
