Vs.

I was previously unaware that an Ohio pattern exists, and had only ever heard them lumped in with Michigans.
I'll definitely be checking to see if any of my "Michigans" aren't Michigans after all! ;)

There were hundreds of different patterns. Some companies produced hundreds of patterns themselves. The state/region patterns seem to be prominent, but I suspect this is only due to what material survived from catalogues (perhaps the most popular) and not necessarily what was best.

Looks like a Dayton pattern. Dayton is in Ohio. Maybe a different name for the same pattern?

Some slight differences.

I just scored a nice little C. Hammond Ohio pattern Boy's Axe on the 'bay. I'm excited to see how it turns out.
