I know we discussed this before but had no results in the search.

Could this be a possible punch mark on the left hand side of the 110 stamp?

It just looks too perfect to be a rust pit or a bubba mark by joe grinder. the wood on this one is beautiful BTW

sorry for the blurry pic

No, not a hardness test mark. I've seen that stamp before. Still, a odd ball stamp. Sorry, DM

That being the first year date stamp. I don't know if we pulled the rabbit out of the hat on what the dot meant. But those are around. Your welcome. DM

Doug, you said the wood is beautiful but "no picture, no proof". Share a picture of the wood with us. That is an odd mark but as Dave said it has been posted before.

Doug_86, here's one just like yours... I have other ones with extra dots in different areas...

The dots according to Joe Houser they were added every time they made a change
to the 110 and other models for different reasons... It's a little hard to see... But it's
there... Maybe you can zoom in... It's packed up somewhere or I would take some better
pics of it... We have talked about it before but there always new guys that don't know
about the dots... So it's all good... It's always cool finding one of these cool Buck Knives...
Because you don't see to many of them...

ITE, Thanks for the info, I can clearly see that dot :)

Those are great pics as always

This has been discussed before and the consences was that Buck did this when there was a manufacture change. They marked the blades to know when they did the change. It could have been anything that effected the original manufacture of the knife.

I have seen that dot a fair number of times and I always thought they were Rockwell testing dots. Maybe not.
