An interesting new kydex tool

I just discovered and started using these. They seem to work really well and allow me to completely finish my edges before I install the eyelets. This has really made it easy to keep dust and grit out of the sheaths during production. I also use an aircraft rivet fan. I haven't seen either of these tools in any other tutorials or forums so I just wanted to throw them out there. If anyone has used these or any other cool tool I'd love to know about it.

Neat. I've used 1/8 screw posts for the same purpose before, but you have to drill twice that way. Those look a lot better. Like the rivet fan idea as well.

What is the first tool exactly for? The fan looks very handy.

It works as a temporary fastener, you insert it in the hole and tighten it down. You are able to get them very tight without marking the kydex or enlarging the holes. Another great thing is they are pretty long so you can have many layers of kydex for special projects. The only draw back that I have noticed is the outer diameter is about 3/4" so you need to leave some space around your holes. My sheaths are usually at least 1/4" around the eyelets so this isn't a problem for me but if you get closer you will have to move them out of the way. I mainly use these to get a completely buffed and finished edge before I install eyelets. This allows me to completely clean the inside and not have to worry about scratches on the blades from sanding material left behind.
I will try and post some pictures when I get a chance to show these in action.

Awesome. Pictures would be great. I'm going to assume you use 1/4"? Thank you for posting this.

Ahh we use these at work but they are the clico press spring loaded type. We use them for lining up large pieces of aluminum before pop riveting. Never thought to use it for kydex. Good idea

We use them at work for the same thing, that is where I got the idea in the first place.

A few pictures of a sheath I did this weekend and the temporary fasteners in action.
