Hello All,

I would like to start by introducing myself to everyone. My name is Brian Thie. I have been a forum member for a while, but have been on the sidelines taking in a wealth of information that is presented here.

I am a part time maker and an ABS Journeyman (2008) from the state of Iowa.

I would like to invite everyone to stop by at Blade Show 2009. I will be at table 24-R. I tried to make a couple of piecies to make this invitation more appealing. The hunter is my first silver wire inlay knife (after some practice on some scrap pieces). The handle is curly maple, stainless butt and guard, and sterling ferrule. The spear point bowie has a mild steel frame handle with stainless bolsters and pre-ban ivory. Both knives were forged using 5160 steel.

I hope to see you at Blade. :)
Brian

Some really nice pieces there Brian - thanks for giving us an early peek.

You're good. I love silver wire inlay and you did a great job on that hunter. That bowie looks really nice as well, but I would like to get a look at it from a couple of other angles.

Hi Brian, those look great, its good to see you posting on here. See you at the show.

Brian -- you did an excellent job of the wire inlay and created a lot more excitement in the pattern of the inlay that generally is seen by most makers. Would love to see it in person but not possible this year. Hope you have a great show and I'm sure the hunter won't last long.

Thank you all for the kind words. I do appreciate them.

Burton, I hope to make it to the Troy hammer in, but Dad is supposed to have another surgery in August. The date has not been set yet, and my attendance at Troy will be deterimined by Dad's surgery.

Kieth, I will try to get some other angles of the bowie and post later today or tomorrow.

Thank you all again
Brian

Kieth, I hope this is somewhat of what you were looking for. Photography is something that I still struggle with. I guess I neglected to mention the file work / engraving on the spine in my earlier post.

This is a hunter that I will also have at Blade.
