I'm Steve, a retired RR mechanic, now living in Santa Fe, NM.
I spent 36 years, living in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western Maryland.
I've been fortunate enough to have camped and fished all over the East Coast; from Maine-to-Florida.
Now, I'm in beautiful Northern New Mexico, and enjoy the same activities with my two best buddies.....a pair of Shetland Sheepdogs!
I look forward with interest to the many informative posts on this forum, and hope in a small way, to be able to contribute in kind.

I'm in Raton, just up the road from you.

Hope you've have a chance to stop by Santa Fe Stoneworks. Nice folks and neat knives.
And, since you're an outdoorsman, you should be aware that the next two months is the prime camping/hiking season in northern and central New Mexico.
