Greetings All,

Wanted to say hello and that it's rather nice to be here! I've learned a bit already about the production/custom world and have even been tempted into my first custom purchase.

My first love (we're talking knives here) was the Benchmade 710 in 154CM that I bought way back in 2000. I was 15 years old then and saved up a month's worth of weekend work pay to get it, but the counter guy at Chesapeake Knife & Tool said, "You'll have this one for life." What do you know... I think he was right. I still have the knife and carry it on the regular!

Fast forward 15 years and I've since added 8 other Benchmades, a hand full of Leatherman multi-tools, a few other miscellaneous blades/tools (think Becker BK3), and my very first full custom. In the pic below is my Doc Shiffer 1095 large Recon in carved & jeweled titanium with a Hamon blade. I can't get over the hand-work on this piece.

In addition to sharp instruments and artful blades I am an avid modern firearms collector, military vehicle owner (M923A2), Porsche & Audi fan, and mountain biker. My other interests include drumming, paintball, and hiking. You can catch me on the MDSF (Maryland Shooters Forum) too, member since 2007. Thanks for taking the time to read!

Welcome to BFC!!!!!
From the looks of things, you'll fit right in. Have fun and enjoy the ride.

Thanks! Here are a few of Doc Shiffer's photos as he was working on the knife. The satin green is really subdued most of the time, but if its in direct sunlight it looks just like the photos below!

2015 Doc Shiffer 1095 Recon Custom. It's got a full carved & jeweled titanium frame, a Hamon blade with forged jimping that rides on caged bearings, a jeweled titanium pocket clip, and a matching geared back-spacer.
