Hey folks, I wanted to post up and encourage you to join a Social Group here at BFC. I just started up "Fans of Becker Knives" with the following description:

This group is for people who own and use the Becker Knife & Tool line of knives--whether from Cincinnati, Blackjack, Camillus, or Ka-Bar.
It doesn't matter if you're an official member of the Beckerheads or if you just got your first Becker knife.
Come on in, sit a spell, and share this social space with folks who enjoy Becker knives and wilderness skills.

Here's the link: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/group.php?groupid=59

Now there's already a group for the Beckerheads, but I wanted to start one that was open to any and all users/fans/collectors. It's not so much that I want to move our conversations over there, but I thought it could be one more spot where we show support for Ethan's designs and collaborations that fall under the BK&T name.

One nice thing about the social groups are the Group Pictures function, and I thought we might be able to amass a really nice photo album there. Unlike the Becker photo thread, it would be just pics without the commentary... so a slightly different format.

If you like Becker knives, head on over, join the group, and maybe link to a few of your Becker pictures!

Paws, look above the fiery Becker pic on the right.
There should be a link there that says Join Group.

At first, I had it set up as a Moderated Group and was having to approve memberships.
I just opened it up to the Public setting, so joining should be easier.

Good stuff Guyon. Just joined, my first group here.

As far as pics, it looks a little trickier than I thought.
You may have to upload to your BFC album (which may require paid membership) and then link them.
Not sure. I'll play with it some more next week.

Regardless, y'all join up and show some BK&T luv. :D

Great idea guyon! I'll wait until I get some better pics before I post:thumbup:

Member roll is already on page 2. Way to go, folks.

I just noticed that, among the "fan groups," we are already the second biggest.
When we top 40 (Spyderco Paramilitary fans), we'll have the lead.
Of course, there's not THAT MUCH competition in the fan groups category.
The Kershaw folks have 243 (set up as a different category), so there's still some work to do. :D

Hey Warrior, I think you have to have BFC storage.
I'll play with it some more and see if there's an easy end-around though.

I tried uploading from an outside hosting site and had no luck, it said it failed because it did not come from "my albums". As for my albums that was easy, I just made a dedicated BK&T album, uploaded pics, and when you view each pic there is direct link on the right of the pic for adding to groups. I'm not sure what membership level you have to be to have photo albums. I have been a gold member for three years so I really don't remember what functions I had available to me as a basic member.

Thanks Guyon. I don't have enuf posts for Beckerhead mode but this is great also. That'll all change as the better weather comes and I get outdoors more and take more pics and make more posts!

You folks are rocking it out. Only one day in and we've got nearly 50 folks.
I think the ESEE group has 288. I'd like to top that number eventually.
