A guy at work has been bugging me to let him come over and pound a knife out of a 52100 ball bearing he had laying around. He comes over and shows me his pattern. I break out into what Pat McMnanus calls the stationary panic. I start running in place pumping my arms. I did'nt want to tell him that I had no idea how to forge that knife. Well, it took a while to think our way through it, but we came very close to his pattern. And I learned a little something along the way.

Interesting...can we see the pattern?

Sounds like you indulged in McManus' MSP (Modified Stationary Panic) as a opposed to the FBLP (Full-Bore Linear Panic) which requires the difficult triple-richochet 'anvil-forge-anvil':D Good choice
