I just received this strange jack, and figured I'd post it here for some feedback. Got it off Ebay from what I believe is a reputable dealer. His story was that he bought this knife and several others off of Frank Giorgianni several years ago. At first glance, and judging by the web pics, I thought maybe it was meant to be a one arm jack knife, but on closer examination, I'm not sure what it was meant to be. The knife is unfinished, as you can see by the close-up, the bone was only slightly shaped to the outline of the cut-out, and the pen blade is still an unsharpened blank.
Now the problem is, in it's present state, there's no way you can open it in the classic one armed, catch it on the pocket style. The edge of the "hook" on the blade goes beyond the cut-out, so I'm baffled. Doesn't appear to be a razor blade either. Maybe it's an easy open with a broken blade? Maybe there's some final finishing that needed to be done, who knows? I figured the only way to possibly straighten this out would be for Mr Giorgianni himself to take a gander at it, so if anyone has a way of contacting him, I'd sure appreciate it. The only other explanation I can think of is that I was duped, which of course wouldn't be the first time:mad:

Parts knife for sure, but why?? You may never find out, unless you talk to Mr G!!!

Interesting the 4 pin construction too, the bone is nicely colored, and a little different than what one usually sees on a Schrade. Any pattern number on the back? Probably a detail you would not have left off. I liked seeing it.

Thawk, no pattern number, the tang's pretty rough in general, back's unpolished and the stamp is very deep on the mark side, you can see a bit of the outline of the actual die. The 4 pin setup is a bit odd, on similar Cut. Co's I have the center handle pin doesn't exist.

Larry, thanks for the heads up on that blade, I'd forgotten they were in the catalog. The knife is like a hybrid between the S2153EO and the C2153EO on the bottom of page 18. It's the same length, has the pin layout of the "S", and the cap bolsters of the "C". I still need to check out the Walden catalogs for a similar carryover, if there was one at all. The blade is flat ground, and still a bit rough.

I still don't get why they would use a "razor point" pocket blade with an EO?? Or that doesn't stick up from the liners so you can one-hand it?? Isn't one-handing it the reason for the razor point's existence?? Or is there another reason??
Lotta questions!:D

Very unusual knife Eric! a very different addition to the collection. Looks to me like the end was put into a hydraulic hole punch rather than the blade being made as a one arm opener. All the same it's nice to have some odd knives in a collection!
