Just got my BM mini griptilian with CPM-M4. I've never used this steel before, but have read great reviews about it. It certainly lived up to its reputation. I think with some fine tuning this will be my favorite EDC knife.

I bought one too, at first I thought it was to small but have gotten used to it and is a great cary in shorts. eagerly awaiting my Wilkins scales for it, which should be here any day.

I live in Florida and I put tuff glide on it every so often. I can say how often, i just smell the blade before i carry it. No tuff glide smell? Re-apply :)

Which scales did you get? Mine are on the way too. I bought the desert tan/black G-10.

Its probably a lot worse for me because I live in texas and the humidity gets crazy crazy and m4 will rust easily then

I've EDC'd polished M2 before in florida and it's not a big deal, it's more rust resistant than simple carbon steels and I think it's probably more rust resistant than most blued firearms. Just gotta wipe em down and oil them at the end of the day and there shouldn't be any problems. The coated blades I wouldn't even worry about as the only thing likely to rust on those is the edge, and that's easy to take care of.

Ahh yes, i Have a Spyderco Air so its not coated. The Benchmades are cerakoted so you should be fine.

I got the "intense blue aluminum with black spacer", I thought the blue would go nicely with
the gray color of the blade coating. I will likely post a picture once I get em and put em on.

I believe CrimsonTide said his tested at 64Hrc. Stellar steel at a proper hardness. Its super steel at a super steal. May be the best bang for the buck right now if you want to play with great steel.

A Benchmade with M4 bladesteel will probably be my next purchase. Whenever that is. Hearing too many good things.

The only question: 710 in M4 or the 810?

I've got an 810 Contego. I sent it to Benchmade for some work and they were going to test it for hardness just for fun (because they rock, and they knew I was discussing it here), but my knife accidentally got shipped back to me before my friend over there could grab it to test. In any case, they run their m4 good and hard. I've actually got my Conti sitting in my lap as I write this. I reprofiled the edge to about 28° inclusive, and it's an absolute slicing machine.

Congrats on the Grip. Those look like fantastic knives! ;)
