Here are a few of my Favorite blades and guns. I have been using my NMSFNO a lot lately, I mothballed it when I got the DSF but it is officially back in service
Some of the other pics were from a local state park and a range trip to sight in my new scope on my Thompson Center Omega 50cal, it is a Bushnell 1.75 to 4 power, perfect for the woods.
Enjoy

Very nice! What do you think the dsf does better than the sfno and vice versa?

For battoning a lot of wood I prefer the DSF, it goes through easier and there is less shock through the handle. The NMSFNO was used to chop up 4" x 8' sections of hardwood for the fire and it did it with not much effort. I also used the DSF for the same job and it was easy but the Magnum handles on the NMSFNO really helped with chopping. Honestly I would have a real hard time choosing between the two if I needed to only take one but I wrote this before and I am going to stick with it, I prefer the DSF. If you have the chance try both before you buy either, you will know right away which is for you after some hard use.
Hope this helps.

Great shots as always Tom! Users always mean more to me than safe queens; you really get to know the knife. With all of that snow you guys are getting up there, I'm sure the DSF is getting a great workout :p

Oh yeah I burned Friday night outside and Last night, chopped/battoned a ton of wood (with DSF, NMSFNO and CGFBM), loved every minute of it too, Full moon, 20 something degrees out, gotta love it. I would rather be out in the freezing cold then inside watching American Idiot or what ever garbage is on the tube. Yes the DSF is getting hammered....err or is it me :D

Cool pics, Tom.

Can I chip in?

Always
Hey I think I might have owned that Basic 7 once before, nice score BigLebowski65
Cool wheel gun, I used to have a S&W 649 Body guard and I miss it everyday
Thanks for sharing

Awesome pics Max. :thumbup::thumbup:

I love your TC Omega. Thats the exact model I was going to get a few years ago but ended up getting the Encore instead since my dealer couldn't get that particular model.

Nice photo's.

Biglebowski65, Nice hawk, I caught that on the hawks subforum.

Nice Colt too. My only problem with those Colts (and my old S&W) is that the stock grips are not comfortable to shoot. I had to swap mine out with hand fitting ones.

Too much knuckle smack with the standard ones. Not a super huge deal on .357, but when you get up in the heavier loads, or shoot one in .44 mag with full house loads, you really know you need to switch the grips out for more form fitting ones.

I hear you. I can't shoot a wheel gun to save my life, this one is my brother's (got it for his birthday). Personally, I prefer a good old 1911 myself:

I like a good wheel gun as much as the next guy, both single action and double action.

For the double action (especially snubbies double action only) you have to spend some time getting used to the heavy long trigger pull.

I am more accurate with a 2 lb trigger pull on a target style pistol, but I do pretty good with my longer .357. More so in single action!

Well, here's a Christmassy picture of my Smith and Wesson .41 magnum and NMSFNO

And for the semi auto crowd, a Kimber Custom II with a Terror Monkey Boss Street

Nice pics! How do you like that 41 mag? I like the unfluted cylinder on it

I used to have a 3" 629 just like yous, nice gun should have not let my buddy talk me out of it. :( Also your kimber is cocked but not locked. ;)

Trying to find ammo is a real pain, so I mostly use hand loads. But with hand loads I can generally load them to where they're faster and have more knockdown than a .44 mag.

Overall I really love it, grip is a bit small for my hands but the thing is a real beast and VERY accurate. And it turns out that only 500 of the Classis Hunter II were made which is a cool bonus.

It's alright, 1911s have more than one saftey remember ;). Besides, it had snap caps in there so all's good.
