Amid all the generous offers of discounted khukuris, I have yet to come across the Mother of all khukuri offers, and that is for someone to step up and say:

"I have giving away one Sanu, Durba, or Sher khukuri of this particular type absolutely free, no strings attached because it's four months to Christmas, and I can't think of anything better to do."

All the winner got to do is to say "I am here, pick me." At the end of a particular time, there will be a random pick and the winner is named.

So this world is a bit crazy, but that doesn't mean good people don't do crazy things. Now that is what I would call an advanced Xmas present.

I will wait for that day to happen.

Meanwhile, Merry Christmas. I know it's a bit early but what the heck!

And Merry Christmas right back at you, Golok!

I think you might be surprised at the number of khukuris and other knives that are given to friends and family.

I've given away...mm, let's see...4, that I remember. But that's only because I ran out of money! :D

Jim Bleckle, a long time Bando man and also long time pal and nephew has probably given away more khukuris than anybody I know. My guess is he has given perhaps 25 or 30.

Awwww, shucks....I never have nephews or friends like that! :D

As they say, it is more blessed to give than to receive.

Email me your mailing address Golok. I have a Christmas present for you. Please allow me to explain, I am not trying to offend anyone with the following testimony. I am only exposing my beliefs and convictions as an explanation for my acts. My lord is Christ. Christmas celebrates his birth. Much evidence shows that the date of December 25 may not have been the actual date. In fact the actual date is irrelevant. After some prayer and soul searching, this thread weighed heavy on my heart. Christ taught to love others as you would have them love you. He taught that all things are not to be kept as ours, but are to be offered to God as he is the one who untimaltely provided them to us to begin with. We are to distrubute them to where they are needed, to be good stewards of what He provided for us. I believe that all I am and all I own are not truely mine. I must hold them loosely and be ready to part with them as God directs me. I feel led by God to part with one of "my" khukuris and pass it to you. Please accept this gift of the Spirit, in which it is offered. Merry Christmas.

WOW:cool:

This forum and its members NEVER cease to amaze me!!!!!!!!!!:)

What an incredibly generous thing to do!

Bob, you have my utmost respect and admiration. You may want to take a look at my response in the Samurai Dave and Catoosa threads.

Let's see: was it something like Whatsoever thou doest in my name, thou doest unto me?

MY birthday's on Dec 25! :D

Good for you, rkenny. It really is more blessed to give. My favorite daydreams involve having the means to shower those I love with good things.

I've given away quite a few myself. I suspect maybe more than Jim.
Jim - I guest it is time to prove that Pakcik Bill was wrong by start giving away yours ... and don't forget to register my name in your list as well! :D

Bob, I have just read your mail and this thread. Truly, I am slightly taken aback by your kind act. This world is made up of miraculous deeds and those who walk in His footsteps.

Surely, this will be a lesson for me. In this, shall I learn humility and certainly about kindness and generosity.

The journey I have pledged to undertake is a journey without distance towards a goal that has never changed. Some of you out there may know what I am talking about.

Meanwhile, have a good Khukuri day, one and all.
This HI forum consists of some of the nicest, most humorous people I have ever come across. Your generous sharing of knowledge never ceases to amaze me. I am truly honoured to be in your company.
