An Often Overlooked Set of Survival Skills

Thanks for the link. Might come in handy next time I visit the big smoke (city). I was just thinking to myself how last time I visited it looked like everybody had dead eyes.

That's just my kind of book! One of my favorite survival movies is George Romero's "Dawn of the Dead". I guess I'm a zombie freak. My ebay screen name is "Zombie Hunter". My wife thinks I'm really strange sometimes. My 2 year old son likes my "Dawn of the Dead" T-shirt, he points at it and says, "Monster on your shirt!"

There was a good thread here a few months ago on what kind of knives and weapons would you want to use if confronted by flesh eating zombies?

My list was as follows-
-Jack Crain "Predator" Machete
-Scattergun Technologies Remington 1187 Automatic 12 Gauge
-My Jack Crain Life Support System 2 knife
-My Springfield Armory 1911-A1 .45
-My 10" bladed Tramontina machete a backup
-Lots of bite proof clothing, preferably Nomex for when the Molotov cocktails start flying!
-A flame thrower would be ideal when confronted by a large mob.

You forgot the holy symbols and holy water.....
I say blessed super soaker

I'm gonna have to go with a good Katana/Wakizashi combo as good head splitters for the undead. That's the best story about your DotD shirt though...glad the boy has a good stomach for it. I remember seeing Dawn in the movies when it came out, which would have made me 8 years old...what the hell was my dad thinking? The topper is that my younger brother went too, and he's 5 years younger! To this day he gets creeped out by the Mall Music from Dawn. But we both love the genre still. 28 Days Later was pretty good...

Yeah, I have to see "28 Days Later" before it's out of the theaters. I have a cancelled check from the expense budget for "Dawn of the Dead". It's a check dated Feb of 1978 for $35.00 made out to the Pittsburg Traffic Court for a ticket caused by an illegally parked vehicle on the set of the film. It's drawn on the account of Laurel Tape & Film, George Romero's company and it's signed by him. In the memo section of the check it's typed "Dawn of the Dead". Pretty cool piece of movie memorabilia.

If it's Romero-type sombies, I have to go with a .22 semi auto. The headshot is all that counts, and the .22 will do the job. You can carry a lot more ammo that way too. I'd want a .45 as a sidearm and a good hacking blade too...probably a khukuri...

Right on brother, like flyboy used the Ruger .22 single action. Although he couldn't shoot worth a damn...

Charles Bronson 1921-2003 You Will Be Missed...
