An Old Cross Grows in Brooklyn

Now around my parts, Brooklyn, NY, one hardly expects to find any notable pocket knife in any shop. To be fair there are sporting goods stores that do sell some fine knives for camping etc though usually nothing too extraordinary and they usually want full MSRP. So imagine my surprise when I walked into an old run down hardware store and found this untouched beauty.

I have a current issue electrician that's in my back pocket everyday so I'm not sure what I'll do with this old cross but I just couldn't pass it up. I'm not sure when it's from but I'm assuming the 90's. If anyone has a better idea or has similar experience of stumbling across a gem in a most unexpected place please share.

That's a beauty Lemmy and one of my favorite ALOX' I can't nail down the year but I do know that's a great find...congrats my friend:cool::thumbup:

Thanks guys! I just saw a date on the manual/ warranty card. Looks like its from 1994! So this guy sat in waiting 21 years in that store before I came and scooped it up. LOL

I carry an Electrician about as often as not (and for the last 3 days), great for work. I carry the old cross and keep a new one in my kit bag for traveling. Got this one used off the bay for $25. It ain't perfect, but neither am I!

Looks good to me. A part of me prefers used knives as then you don't concern yourself with should I keep it minty or not. Don't think I'm cut out to be a collector. I'll have peanut butter and jelly all over this one in a month's time. LOL

Really like the Alox knives. May have to try one out. That particular pattern looks pretty useful.

Haha, yeah now I'll have to go into every single hardware store in the city in the hopes that they're harboring a gem like this. I might be setting myself up for a lifetime of disappointment. LOL
