Around this time last year I was on a merciless hunt for a Spyderco ParaMilitary 2. I had wanted one since they were introduced but never got lucky enough to snag one up. I was doing a lot of trading back then and sometimes people would offer me their Para 2 for one of my knives but every time I would get close to sealing the deal with these people, They would back out of the deal or just cease to email me back. This happened seven times (No joke) like clockwork.

After having that happen seven times I started to think the Para 2 and I just weren't meant to be and stopped trying so hard to get one. Well a few weeks later I finally ended up getting an offer for a satin/Digital camo Para 2! I was in love the minute I held it and carried that knife for most of that spring/summer. This was also the Fist knife I Rit dyed which I'm a big fan of doing as some of you may know. The dye job turned it into a whole new knife for me and I loved it even more. After all that trading and trying to find that perfect knife and getting disappointed all those times, I finally found a knife that was perfect for me. I still traded some of my other knives but never wanted to get rid of the Para. well August of last year of In a moment of weakness/wanting to try a new knife, I traded the Para:(

Fast forward to last week and I get an email from the same guy I traded it to asking me if I'd be interested in trading one of my knives for the same Para 2. I said yes, of course.I was so excited to get the knife back in my hands where it belongs. It got here today and to say I'm ecstatic would be an understatement. It's just like it was before except the dye has faded a bit.

Pics!

I dyed that knife over a year ago so I'm pretty dang happy with how it held up. I'm going to re-dye it tomorrow so it can look good for another year!

Sorry for such a long post but I had to get my excitement out there.

Just like a lost puppy. Glad it found its way back in your hands.

Congrats, coming across an old knife is like that old pair of jeans with too many holes in all the wrong places, there will always be a place for 'em.

I have the same knife, now I need to buy a double and dye one blue, holy hell that dye job looks nice!

That dye job came out awesome, makes me want to do the same to a digicamo smallfly...

Thanks guys! It really is nice to get it back. I re-dyed the scales today and they look just like they did when I first dyed it a year ago.

Anyone else have a story about a knife that made it's way back to you? I'd love to read 'em.

Congrats!

Btw, I don't normally like digital camo but that is awesome dyed like that

Is there a How to for Dyeing? I would love to do that to my Para!!!

There sure is! Here's how I do it.

Thanks.

I wasn't really into the camo either (the one thing I wasn't in love with) but it's perfect for dying. I want to get a camo/DLC one and give it a deep blue dye. I think that would look great.

Camo/DLC in Blue would look great.
Glad you got your knife back, I wouldn't let go of that one again.

Glad you got a happy ending! The dye looks great on the digi-camo; i never thought of that. how do you like the serrations added to the lock release?
