OK, so first, I know I am a lurker and this look’s like I am advertising for my self, but I do not know this guy and have no interest in the auction (other than it’s a nice knife).
But, he has what he claims to be one of the original knives (1 of 82) that Chris hand made before getting his cnc machine.
Very cool and it would go well with my small Sebenza, but his reserve price would probably scare me.

Seen it, but thanks for the tip.

I'm thinking that it would look good on my wall next to the prototype and the SA Titanium folder.

Hey there logan5 -- welcome to the forums! Interesting knife you linked to.

Have to assume that you're at least interested in CRK, if you're lurking here and chose this forum for your first post. Shows good taste in either event.

I do hope you'll hang around the forums, and get to feeling comfortable enough to post regularly. I suggest you try out some other forums, if you haven't, so you can get a picture of the broad scope of discussions here.

Though I just ordered my first custom, I've been a fan of the Shop Talk and Custom Knives forums for a long time. Have stopped looking at the individual sales, because can't stop buying knives. The community forum is interesting also. If you're into the outdoors or survival or martial arts, you can find those forums grouped together. (Sorry by my failing memory totally blanked on the name of that group.)

Anyhow, it is nice to hear from you, and I hope we do more of that in future.

Thanks for the welcome Bugs. I actually own a small sebenza (born dec-8-97) and love the knife. And have been lurking at bladeforums.com for over a year now, and am a regular visitor to the CRK forum (how else do I find out about the new pocket clip) and others. Maybe I'll post a little more now that I went ahead and got a user name.

And St.James, I think it would just look good on my wall all by it's self.

And I just noticed that I miss spelled Sebenza on the supject. Sorry Chris, I hope this does not make too bad of an impression on the FNG

Big drive up at the end, but I did manage to win the auction

Thanks to Jim, Jerome, Joel and Joe (funny that, the J's come through!) for being kind enough to take a few things off my hands in the last week.

I was in the running for a little bit, back when the price was around $325.00.

James, great buy. Don't think you could go wrong there.

Let us know how it is once you get it in person!

Just this morning I won a $1000 judgement against a telemarketer, if I ever collect, I may think about trying to find one of these. I really like the blade profile.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Nice score James. I could not have wished for a better, more knowlegeable person to win that auction. I was tempted to bid but it was going to be a user, a definite no-no for such a beautiful piece. I'm sure that one will go into your collection :)

I have spent little time in this forum over the last year. I may have missed it but HOW about listing your current Sebenza collection, I'm sure it'll be of great interest

Congrats! Well worth it at that price IMHO, if I had the cash, I would have paid that as well in a heartbeat. Well done!;)

Thanks for the heads-up RGRAY

Looks like they all coming out of the safes now!!

Not quite the same thing though, it's a 'P' ,not a Handmade, and I don't see a swedge(unless I'm mistaken)

:)

It looks like he put it back on the block, Dave ;)

Thanks for the kind word, everybody. I'm still waiting to hear back from the seller, starting to get a little nervous in that regard.

Brandon, the reserve was $600.00.

I plan on doing some digital images of what I have in the collection real soon!

It looks like the "P" Sebenza on E-bay has polished screws (and maybe thumbstud as well). I don't believe that the hardware was polished back then. I have a similar era P-series with unpolished screws. Maybe the owner did some customization?
