After "winning" Peters (stockman242) yellow Case peanut giveaway, which is being passed to my son Travis upon arrival, I thought it would be good to get another "yeller" knife into circulation....

I liked the originality of Peters idea, so I tried to come up with something a little different myself. It was harder than I expected. But heres what I came up with.

I drive a gas tanker. So I thought I would do the contest to see who could guess the total amount of gallons when the truck is loaded with gas.
If no one gets the exact number, the closest guess will win.
I'll narrow it down to make it a little easier. The total number of gallons is between 11,300 and 11,400.. Lets say we run the contest until the day before Thanksgiving(Wednesday) unless someone guesses the exact amount before then.
Heres a picture of the truck:

Now heres the knife.. It's an older Schrade Walden Yeller trapper(293Y)..
Not a collectors item, but this old knife has character and is itchin to have someone put her in pocket..

GOOD LUCK....

Tanks for the nice giveaway, Mike. I'm gonna forego my chance but thank you for the nice gesture.

11375...thanks and isn't that dangerous if an accident happens?? your job is interesting in the declaration of the winner I say you tell a bit more about it, including what knife one carries for the job including common uses....I'm thinking something fixed blade...

11350, right in the middle. This is a quite generous giveaway, thanks for the opportunity.

11390 US gallons.

Fine giveaway and a fine gesture! Wish I had your job but my eyesight is too poor, keep on the high road.

Nate, Yes the potential for a catastrophic outcome is very real. The tanks are only a single layer aluminum, so they don't have the benefit of a secondary inner tank. We had a driver from another company last summer involved in a crash, fortunately everyone was able to get out of the car that hit the truck before it went up in flames.. A lot of times there isn't enough time because they go up so quick.. I call it my 105,000 pound bomb on wheels. My wife hates it when I say that though :grumpy:
In all honesty, I really don't use a knife that often in my line of work, it's mostly hooking and unhooking of hoses. Technically I should be carrying a knife with a ceramic blade, but I don't see that happening unless someone comes out with a slipjoint that has a ceramic blade.. I still carry a "Slippie DeJour", just real careful where and how I use it... :D
