I have a question about what some of my knives might be worth.

from to to bottom is a guard marked Boker M-3 fighting knife with an M-8 sheath, a wwII Camillus w/out an orriginal sheath, a gerber Guardian II, and a Benchmade AFO new without a box.

your pictures are to dark to show condition. Condition will matter. Check ebay ended lists for similar condition items. Clearer pictures here might get more of a response. Nice taste in knives by the way.

I am not trying to sell these knives at this time but circumstances may see me selling them in the near future. Right now I am just trying to take advantage of the vast pool of knowledge here before I get to that point. I am asking everyone what they may be worth or where I need to start my asking prices. Starting from top to bottom is a guard marked Boker M-3 fighting knife with an M-8 sheath, a WWII Camillus w/out an original sheath, a Gerber Guardian II with original leather sheath, and a Bench made AFO new with sheath but without a box.

Welcome to BFC.

Not sure why two threads were started on the same subject, so the two threads were merged into one.

I hope you end up enjoying this place and it's cast at least as well as I do.

Because I recieved a warning from Esav Benyamin stating that the original was being closed because I was trying to sell the knives improperly.

Both the M-3 and Camillus are in good to fine condition the Gerber is in excelent condition, and the Benchmade is brand new never used. I did try Ebay but no joy on finding anything in near as good condition or the same manufatures

Your idea of "good to fine condition" may be far different than that of someone else especially since knives are not coins. Good photo's speak for themselves. For most here, dark out of focus pictures are of no help, on the "auction site" they usually cover up flaws or outright fakes.

For value, again, look at past "auction site" sales and select the third bid...if you think the "condition" of your knife is better add a few bucks.

Even for coins, there is so much room between Good-4 and Fine-12. A G-4 coin is exceptionally worn- think of an Indian Head penny that has most of the design worn away. An F-12 coin is essentially what you see with the common 1965 quarter from the change machine- much better.

It's a heck of a spread, and that's with a discipline that has the clearly defined categories. Knives don't.

imho the BM is worth the most, maybe $100, boker & cammilus maybe $50 each, havent seen a guardian 2 for sale in a while but i bought a guardian one in LNIB shape 3 yrs ago for IIRC $50 the 2 will be worth a tad more but nothing like say a mark1 .
